Our Mission 
The mission of the Jason Motte Foundation is to provide comfort and care where there is a need for those affected, either directly or indirectly, by cancers of all kinds.
Why We Started the Jason Motte Foundation
The seed for the Jason Motte Foundation was planted in the fall of 2010 when Jason and Caitlin Motte asked, “What can we do to help?” At that time, Caitlin’s grandfather, Lynn Doyle, was battling Stage 4 lung cancer. A patient at The West Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee, Jason and Caitlin would sit with him during his treatments. While there, they saw a sign that mentioned a need for blankets and wondered what more they could do to help. That simple question led to the formation of the Strike Out Cancer with Jason Motte Gala and the Jason Motte Foundation.
The Jason Motte Foundation uses monies raised towards various research projects and programs all while providing comfort and care where there is a need for those affected, either directly or indirectly, by cancers of all kinds.
Our Impact
Thanks to the amazing partners and donors, The Jason Motte Foundation is able to put its mission into action in so many ways! Here are few of our highlights:
- Since 2013, The Jason Motte Foundation’s KCancer t-shirt has raised $271,000+ benefiting over 60 cancer charities in partnership with the KCancer player representatives.
- During the 2013 baseball season, Jason donated $30 for every strikeout thrown by a St. Louis Cardinals pitcher. Over $70,000 was raised to help Cardinal Glennon and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
- In 2014, The Jason Motte Foundation underwrote the first-ever community lung cancer screening program at The West Cancer Center.
- The Jason Motte Foundation pledged $200,000 to the Inpatient Cancer Unit at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital
- Annually, The Jason Motte Foundation hosts cancer patients and their families at various ballparks and events.
